Last week, we welcomed back a fantastic group of Huish alumni for our Year 1 Progression Day, designed to support students as they begin thinking about their next steps, whether university, apprenticeships, or employment.

Our alumni panel shared valuable insights on:

  • How they chose their pathway
  • What they wish they had known in Year 1
  • Navigating UCAS, interviews & assessment centres
  • Financial realities and budgeting
  • Balancing academic, work, and personal commitments
  • Tackling common misconceptions about apprenticeships and university life

We were joined by:

  • Lily Duckett – Business Management, Exeter University
  • Emily Roadnight – Education & Psychology, Southampton University
  • Callum Ella – Professional Policing, UWE
  • Lucy Halley – Law, Exeter University
  • Sam Lacey – Engineering, TMB Precision Engineering
  • Ryan Downer – Sports Journalism, Plymouth Marjon
  • Eliza Stephenson – Level 7 Business Management, Dunelm
  • Natasha Robertson – Civil Engineering, Hinkley Point
  • Bethan Moran – History & Politics, University of York/MA in Producing

Their honesty and experiences helped empower our students to reflect on their future ambitions with confidence.

Thank you to our alumni community for continuing to support and inspire the next generation of Huish learners.
