Sport, Exercise and Coaching students were inspired by sports industry professionals (most of which were Huish alumni!) at a career-focused event today.
The event kicked off with a group talk from Rhys Beer on ‘The Business of Sport’. As a former Huish student, Rhys gave students a valuable opportunity to hear from someone who had once been in their position.
Students were then split into groups to attend different employer-led sessions. These engaging and informative workshops offered real insights into the many career opportunities available after college. There was also the chance to have a bit of fun, with highlights including archery practice and a ‘hop test’.
Thank you to the following participants for taking the time out of their busy schedules to share their industry insights:
- Rhys Beer, Next Wave Sports and Media / England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB)
- Steph Moreland, Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP)
- Simon Ingram, Physiotherapist, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust / Getting It Right the First Time (GIRFT)
- Toni Smyth, Somerset Cricket Foundation
- Jack Lyons, Cardiff Metropolitan University
- Ellie Tickner, Premier Education UK
