Year 2 students interested in work-based progression after college had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a ‘Key to Careers’ event on Friday 28th of March.

Run by Alexandra Knowles and Ben Dowling from Unloc, an education non-profit that helps schools and colleges to empower young people, the half-day conference included two workshops; one on careers of the future and the changing labour market, which offered useful information on career planning, and the other on apprenticeships – including where to find them and how to apply.

A free networking lunch also gave students the chance to chat to staff and seek careers advice more informally.

At Huish, we celebrate the diversity of student’s destinations after college, whether that’s employment, a gap year, apprenticeships or university. You can find out more about post-college progression support via our Careers and Progression page.
