EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER APPRENTICESHIP
LEVEL 2: APPRENTICESHIP
EXAMINING BOARD: NCFE/CACHE
This Apprenticeship is for anyone interested in working in a nursery or early years setting and will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills to support colleagues working with children from birth to 5 years old.
It will take approximately 15 months to complete.
- planning and leading child initiated and adult led activities which are based around the needs and interests of each individual child
- supporting children to develop holistically, including numeracy and language skills
- key person responsibility
- supporting care needs such as feeding, changing, and administering medicine.
You will attend college on day release once a fortnight to develop your knowledge.
Ideally you will have GCSE Mathematics and English grades D/3 or above.
You will need to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
You may be required to undertake Functional Skills in Maths and English alongside your Apprenticeship.
Your Assessor will help you create a portfolio as you demonstrate your skills in the workplace. This will be include coursework assignments and evidence of your competency.
To complete your Apprenticeship you will complete an end point assessment (EPA).
Your EPA is conducted by an impartial party and measures whether you have met the criteria of the Apprenticeship.
You will have plenty of support from Huish and your employer as you prepare for your EPA.
You can progress on to a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship.
