Level 2 Pathway

We understand that not all students are ready to begin a Level 3 Study Programme.

You may have been unable to complete your GCSEs due to personal circumstance or may not have achieved the grades required to access a Level 3 Study Programme.

We offer progression pathways to Level 3 courses so with determination you can reach university, start a higher Apprenticeship or broaden your employment prospects.

Select a Science, Social Science or Creative pathway to create a Study Programme equivalent of four GCSEs.

Select a pathway (roughly equivalent to two GCSE’s):

Plus two of additional qualifications (each equivalent to one GCSE):

*You will be required to study GCSE Maths/English Language if you have not achieved a grade 9-4.

Your programme will include specialist tutorial support, work experience and EnRICH opportunities that will help develop the skills, confidence and qualifications to prepare for progression to Level 3 study.

You must be aged 16 years+ to commence the programme. All Level 2 courses are one year programmes.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for a Level 2 Pathway are a GCSE profile of mainly grade 3s including Mathematics and English Language.

If you don’t have GCSEs, are home‑schooled and not taking any formal exams, or are applying from overseas without an equivalent Level 2 qualification, we will invite you to complete an assessment with us in Maths and English prior to an Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) meeting.

This will help us to get a better understanding of your current skills and make sure the Level 2 Pathway is an appropriate programme. Please note that this is a mandatory part of the Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) process and enables us to provide you with the most appropriate support.
